Fresh Strawberries & Cream: My Twist on a Wimbledon Classic

Fresh Strawberry half

I first saw strawberries and cream on my TikTok For You page and learned it’s a big deal at Wimbledon. Naturally, I was intrigued. Then, I came across another TikTok by Julius Cooks, where he made his version with apple brandy. I loved the idea but decided to put my spin on it. And here I am, three months later, still obsessed with this dessert!

Instead of using brandy, I macerate the strawberries with balsamic vinegar and sugar, giving them a sweet, tangy flavour I love. For the cream, I shake it in a mason jar until it thickens (so satisfying, by the way), and then I stir in a little vanilla essence for that extra hint of flavour. It’s so simple but so good.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh strawberries

  • 1 cup of heavy cream

  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Instructions:

  1. Slice the strawberries and mix them with balsamic vinegar and sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to soak.

  2. While the strawberries are soaking up all that goodness, pour the cream & vanilla essence into a mason jar and shake until it thickens—around 3-5 minutes.

  3. Serve the soaked strawberries on top of the fluffy whipped cream.

This combo of tangy strawberries and creamy vanilla goodness is an absolute game-changer!
