In the last few years we’ve seen an increase in celebrities who are flying the South African flag high following the footsteps of Charlize Theron, Trevor Noah to name a few. Thuso Mbedu is amongst those as she has recently posted a trailer of an American series The Underground Railroad on twitter which is expected to premiere in May. The two Emmy nominee plays the role of Cora, a young slave who escapes a plantation in Georgia. Mbedu was listed number 16 on the Essence magazine’s global top 20 Black Hollywood stars to watch out for in 2021 alongside Nomzamo Mbatha who was number 9 on the list.

The queen sono actress posted a video of her learning Muay thai boxing in Thailand with a caption explaining how she grew up playing with boys and enjoyed action movies and on how now she gets paid to look like she can fight. The thorn amongst roses, Nasty C got to perform Black and White featuring Ari Lennox on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The rapper has also revealed that he is planning on dropping an album and mixtapes in March, he revealed this on a live video chat with Power106 FM Justin Credible. Must be something in KZNs water seeing as all these stars were born and bread in KZN, nonetheless, YOUFF congratulates them and can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.
