On Wednesday the 30th of November 2022, the Durban Alumni of The Cultural Producers Programme, presented by Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), Common Purpose and Manchester International Festival, Supported by the British Council Creative Economy Programme, hosted a Creative Hustle Mixer at artist residency, iLawu, also the home of local cultural producer and creative consultant Russel Hlongwane.

The intimate evening served as an opportunity for creatives and creative/industry leaders to network, relationship build, and have a conversation on ‘mapping the money.’ However, the intention of the evening was at the core about relationship mapping.

Dr Ismail Mahomed (Director of the Centre of Creative Arts, UKZN) shared his creative journey with anecdotes of how he believed in relationships as the core of the creative economy, and remarked on KZN’s immense talent.

The event was conceptualized and hosted by Niamh Walsh-Vorster, Lex LaFoy, Tegan Peacock and Russel Hlongwane.
