Early Life and Education Andrea Voges was born and raised in Durban, moving frequently during her childhood. She recalls living in areas such as Sydenham, Bluff, Westville, and Musgrave as her parents sought better opportunities. Andrea pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in communications and psychology from Unisa, balancing her studies with full-time work.

She began as an administrator for an international music distribution company and steadily climbed the ranks to her current role. Challenges and Successes Andrea candidly discusses the challenges she faced as a young woman of color in the film industry. From being the only person of color in many professional settings to overcoming limited resources in non-profit work, her journey has been fraught with obstacles.
