This year’s KZN winning representative Corabelle Morrison

In its eleventh year running, Red Bull Doodle Art is a global art competition offering artists the opportunity to showcase their work to the world. Entries were open to anyone 18 years and older to submit their work online or at activations held throughout February on the following campuses: The University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN), Durban University of Technology (DUT), Boston College, Vega, Inscape Design College and Campus of Performing Arts (COPA).

KZN Regional Field Marketing Manager for Red Bull, Donovan Tennant says:

“Red Bull Doodle Art is where art and technology meet with new opportunities for creative doodlers to let their minds wander through imaginative doodles. Over the course of the last few weeks we have done various activations on campus to find the next doodle art creative”.

Tennant added, “Over the course of the application phase KZN saw 400+ entries, and our international judging panel whittled that down to the best 7 pieces. On Saturday the 18th of March we hosted the KZN regional final at the KZN Society of Arts (KZNSA) facility and displayed these creatives artworks for their peers and guests to come and see their artwork and judge for themselves who was the best. We had Sabastien Pillay (Former South African Winner of Red Bull Doodle Art 2017) as one of the judges as well as Fathima Kathrada and David Botha. The criteria in order to win was 1. Creativity 2. Artistic Skill & 3. A Loving-life angle”.
